It took approximately 29 hours for me to get to my hotel in Lyon, a looooonnng time. I made the best of the nine hour stay in Dubai by breaking the bank on a snooze cube for three hours. Quite weird but a blissful sleep.
Those of you wondering about the crown. It’s my Princess Fanny crown gifted to me by my son for my birthday. We all decided, Warwick, Kyle and I that I should walk my Camino with my crown. So that is what I am doing. Such fun! Not sure how long I will last, but what the hell.
The patches on my bag are my first Comrades patch to remind me that I can do anything, the Camigas patch which is a Facebook group for women walking the Camino, it’s been awesome and of course a flag to tell all I’m proudly South African. The pins are from Veronica and Estelle and Emma.
My first gift was revealed in anticipation of the Camino gifts, two free seats on the flight to Lyon. Just perfect.
Tomorrow I fly to Biarritz and then shuttle to St Jean Pied de Port. Excitement mounting and phantom pains too but all will be well.
Thank you for sharing π The journey there is part of the adventure!
Breathe through the nerves and embrace the burtterflies π and also your adventure!
Lots of love!
