‘The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes” Marcel Prost

Yesterday and today I consciously slowed down my walking.  I mean I have been commended on how much I do appreciate things and how valuable a lesson it’s been for some Pilgrims, but I was even more so yesterday and today. I walked slower, took lots of pictures, followed butterflies and watched dragon flies, more than before. I am savoring every moment and not even noticing the hordes.

I am quite emotional as I reflect on the journey and realise that my physical journey ends tomorrow. I am not sure how I will stop walking. You know how Forrest Gump keeps on running, I feel like I might need to keep on walking. It is going to be odd. I am so excited to walk into Santiago and I am a little sad.  I have been incredibly blessed, my body has been good to me, and I have met amazing people and see a making things.it is all a bit unreal, so one does get into a state of euphoria after 39 days on the trail. I am missing Warwick and Kyle a lot. As much. As I am sad it’s ending, it is time to move on.

My wifi is not cooperating in the photos today, and I really wanted to post photos of the flowers, the trees, the grain storage houses, the dragon flies, the gates and the doors, and the animals that I passed and the simple beauty of nature all around me. No luck though.

Think of me around 12h30 when I walk into Santiago tomorrow. Xxxx

(One of the many gates I was fascinated with)

CAMINO GIFTS: strangers commenting on how smiley and “sparkly” I am after so many kilometers; an inspirational email from a colleague in a tough moment when my bag didn t arrive today; my strong body taking on the challenges
