And the final morning dawns…

FRIDAY 8th JULY 2016

So needless to say I was too excited to sleep last night. And here I am sitting in the dark  outside my hotel as that’s where the best reception is for wifi. I am 30 mins earlier than I’m meant to be as I’m walking with Jennie and Rachel. I am really excited.  I will be through 900 Km’s by the end of today.  I have been planning this day for a long time too. And here I am injury free and ready to keep walking.

I thought I would try to post some of the photos I promised.

Tonight I will post a photo of my Compostela!!!!

The last few days as we walked through farmland we have seen hundreds of these, called horreos, they were I think used for storing grain. Now I saw only one with grain in the rest looked empty or stacked with other stuff. A storage space.

  1. So there with you in spirit Steph – what an absolutely inspiring journey this has been for all of us – thank you, thank you, thank you. Cannot wait to hear your thoughts as you walked into Santiago. Love you lots, L xxx

  2. The day is finally here! It seems to have been a long journey and yet in some ways it has gone by in a flash. You must have lots of mixed emotions. It is wonderful that you can look forward to meeting Warwick after a long month apart. Enjoy every moment of today. It has been great to follow your blog from a very cold, wintery Cape Town.

  3. It’s nearly 12.30…..I can just imagine the plethora of surging emotions that are flooding you as you walk right now. There should be canon firing, and fireworks lighting up the sky to welcome you…church bells ringing…….and yet that deep deep quiet thanksgiving that YOU have MADE it Oh WELL DONE……WELL DONE.
    All my love, as always.

  4. What an amazing achievement Stephany….you have been an inspiration! I am booking my own walk (probably sans a tiara!)…as soon as I possibly can.

Hope the trip home is relaxed and filled with the wonderful sense of this journey you have completed and carried with you throughout.

Thank you for sharing your insights, challenges, fabulous photos and mostly the discovery of your personal treasures with us.

    Best wishes, Elly Nield
