Photos from Day 6 with Sarah – Tui to Redondela

“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” Marcel Proust

We left at 6am to beat the heat.

We walked for about 1km where there were just really strange scarecrows

We had attempted quite a steep path here and thought we needed a selfie stick moment.

We were probably 5kms in here, and our Lärm were tired, we were stretching.

Sarah fixing her socks for the hundredth time. We laughed every time she did it.

We met this Irish couple in O’Porrino, 17 kms earlier in the day, they were stuffed. I encouraged them to carry on as the weather was in our favour, we weren’t sure they did, then we bumped into them in Redondela as we entered and they started telling us how we had inspired them to walk further and they had never walked so far in their lives. They were fun. They ended up walking all the way to Santiago in the same time we did. We saw them a few times along the way.

If poppies were the flower of the French Way Camino, then Hydrangeas (Christmas Flowers as we call them) are the flowers of the Portuguese Way.They bloom everywhere. In fields, in rivers, in gardens, along the road, They are prolific.
