Finding treasure on the Camino de Santiago

I spent a few gloriously decadent days in Paris before I head off to Le Puy-en-Velay to start my Camino. I made a point of intentionally slowly down and not rushing from place to place or tourist site to tourist site. I started late every morning and just eased into the day and delighted in the intoxication of Paris. What a joy! Sunshine for the soul!

I have always loved Paris, I got married to my beloved Warwick in Paris, so I looooovvve Paris. it’s not that I’d forgotten how gorgeous she is this city but she really bowled me over again. Is it because I couldn’t come for so long?. Is it because it’s Spring?

Paris simply stole my heart again. The blossoms everywhere, everyone cycling everywhere, everything looked like it had been spruced up just for me. Victor Hugo said “Breathe Paris in. It nourishes the soul!” (Poetic license, my apologies to the VH fans).

Visited the Paris Botanical gardens, walked the streets in unusual areas, went to the top of the Arc de Triomphe (new for me). Found Rue Cremieux, just beautiful! Visited Jim Morrison’s grave for Jennie’s visit. Attended a Vivaldi Four Seasons concert in a beautiful Chapelle (a little bewitching, just drew me in). Rode a carousal under Sacre Coeur (delightful) and strolled up the Champs Elysees like I owned it.

Paris just steals your heart. It draws you in every single minute of the day. I cannot wait to return. It’s like drinking sunshine.
